Baptisms

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: “Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word.” (Catechism of the Catholic Church, n. 1213)

Welcome to the parish community at St Patrick's.

As we work together to arrange your child's baptism, it would be of great assistance if you fill out and submit the form below.

We provide Baptism preparation by personal appointment. This can be customized to you needs and even done by phone. Sometimes the baptism of a child can be the occasion for pastoral discussions around marriage and other sacramental needs, so we encourage you to use the occasion for your spiritual benefit.

To help us maintain our historic Albury church, there is a customary offering or donation of your choice.  We respectfully ask for a minimum donation of $75, but please let us know if this is an issue for you.  We will provide you with a memorial certificate and a white garment to symbolise the gift of grace. We also provide a simple Baptismal Candle, the lasting sign of the spiritual gift of faith, which "is to be kept burning brightly" (Ceremony of Baptism). Beautiful, personalised Baptismal Candles may also be ordered online through a local family business at sacredcandles.com.au. You may choose one godmother and/or one godfather, who must be over 16 years of age and Baptised active Catholics.  If you have any questions, please email or call us on 02 6041 2588.

— Sincerely yours in Christ, Fr Steven Ledinich PP.
